Fan Mail from "Sandy"
I feel like it's Christmas. :-)
I've been reading your mom's books ever since I was 14 or 15 (and I'm 45 now!). The first one I read was "The Long Surrender", and from then on I was hooked.
My favorites:
Obsession (my original copy has pages falling out!)
Frustration
Temptation
Forbidden Fire
Stranger in the Night
That's a very short list, but if I listed all of them, it would be about 25 books!!!
Thanks very much for bringing your mom to life in your blog. I'm sure you must miss her very much even now.

I do miss her, Sandy, you're right. But it's great to have emails like yours periodicaly, to remind me what a popular writer she still is, even eight years after her death.

Lang is a rather "different" name, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteAt least his last name wasn't "Long"! ;) A hero with such a name could never be taken seriously!

It was a Celtic-style name, at a time when such things were popular. Actually, if you look at the names of modern H&B novels, the names are very Americanised and occasionally laughable. But it's about fashion, I guess; Lang was acceptable then, just as the more outlandish names are acceptable now in the romance genre.
